Friday- Baptism Prep & More Family Arrives

We had a lot of activities this week. Bailey's Birthday on Monday, Camp out Tuesday and Wednesday. Thanksgiving Thursday and now we have a baptism on Sunday to get ready for and a Nasa trip planned for Saturday. So Friday was another day of cooking. Nana cooked all the cookies and brownies for the baptism and I made the Pulled Pork and Shredded Beef for sandwiches. Then Bryant spent time running to the airport to pick up his dad and wait for his mom's delayed flight.

Grandma usually comes bearing gifts- As you can see the kids don't mind.

Thanksgiving 2010

The day after our camp out was Thanksgiving. This was the first time we had company over. We kept it simple. It was funny because I had bought an extra turkey for 2009 but I never had cooked it. I talked to Bryant about it and he said to throw it away. I decided to cook it and see if anyone noticed it was a year old. Nobody did. You would have never known. One day I was talking to a butcher at the grocery store and he said the first turkeys of the season are actually left over from the year before (TMI). Well we slaved over pies- I have decided Costco makes a great pumpkin and pecan pie. We even had a pumpkin cheesecake. If you notice Brady is not in the pictures- he napped right through it.

These are my mom's famous rolls. They are like dessert. You really can eat way to many. I think they only lasted 2 days.
Bryant was here as well- he just took the picture

Galviston Beach: Nov 23-24

We went for an overnight camp out the Tuesday and Wednesday before thanksgiving. I pulled the kids out early from school and off we went. Yes, it was even warm.

It is great to have enough room for everyone.
It looks like we brought 2 pretend cats and 1 "live dog"- hard to believe he has been with us almost a year.

Bennett has the back seat to himself.

D.J's first vacation in many many years. (TOO MANY- YOU REALLY SHOULD GET OUT MORE.LOL)

So here we are sitting in the van. It was dusk when we arrived and so first I got out to direct the trailer. I was wearing shorts, tee-shirt, and flip-flops. There were mosquitoes everywhere. I could only dance around and swat mosquitoes that were biting like crazy. We had mosquito repellent- In the trailer of course. I was fired and D.J. took over. I welcomed the protection of the van and loss of my job. So the MEN- 11 and older were left toe defend their women and children (and Moe) from the war outside. The trailer was put up and repellent found. When the fire was made and it was safe to come out the women and children congratulated the men on their VICTORY!!! YEA!!!!

SAFE!!! One day Brady you will not have it quite so lucky. Boys get stronger than their mother and then mom continues to be fired from many jobs that she is happy to get rid of.

Nana holding the light.

If you notice Bryant is still in his work clothes. We picked him up form work on our way to Galveston so we could beat traffic going out of town. We arrived at the campsite and he couldn't change yet. Garren is barefoot and yes plenty of stickers to step on if not careful.
Moe is a wimp when it comes to camping. You can see he has his sweater on. He gets cold very easily. Does not like to walk to far or have to much adventure.

Here we are hanging out. It is dark by 6:30 so we came inside to play games after the fire died down.
Whitney is a little upset.
We made it through the night. I never sleep well always checking on babies. Here I am cooking bacon and pancakes over the fire. As you can see it is going to be a nice day.

Morning walk along beach from bathroom collecting seashells.
We had chips left over from our hotdog roast the night before.Whitney and Brady got ahold of a few bags and can open them by themselves.

Morning sunrise.

The kids spent hours digging in the sand making a fort.
Brady and I were both sick. He had a fever. I know it is probably terrible of me to take a kid camping witha fever but it is Vacation time. Family is in town. We kept him medicated and he kept up his stamina pretty good.
Doesn't look sick if you ask me.
Helicopter flying close by.

The kids loved to play in the sand. It provided hours of entertainment.

remember I was sick. I took at least an hour nap in the chair. I remember waking up startled because I was supose to be just be resting my eyes and I knew it had been a while since I first closed them. I was thankful there were 3 other adults watching the little ones because I sure wasn't.
