Potato Guns and Painting Shed

Bryant and the kids spent the weekend painting the shed and working on their potato guns.

Almost done and ready for use.
But first we need to stop and get on to the important task of making potato guns.
Making the guns. If interested in making one....google it. I think there is even

 Shooting the guns.

Even Bailey gets one.

Trip to ER & Bailey's Birthday Part 2

Well after my last post (am 11/22) our day turned interesting. That morning Brady woke up his normal self. Playing around the house. At one point about 8:30 he came into the kitchen and said his neck hurts. He laid on the couch and I got a pillow. He hadn't eaten breakfast and he would not sit up because of his neck. I spoon fed him his oatmeal as he laid down. He had a temp of 99.8. I gave him some Tylenol and because bailey was having her party in a few minutes I laidhim down in my bed. He soon went to sleep.
Over 3 hours later I woke him up to take him potty. He would not get up. I picked him up and carried him to the bathroom. He screamed the entire way. I carried him back to bed. He didn't want to be touched or moved. I started to get a little concerned...there had been no injury. I called his Pediatrician and told her of his symptoms...she wanted him checked out in the ER. So we headed off to Texas Children's ER. He cried as I carried him to the car..."my neck".
I took Bennett with me (he is talking about a possible medical career) and Bryant left work to meet us there. 6 hours later...he had x rays, Ibuprofen, Valium, strep test with nothing. The best they came up with was a neck muscle problem (she said viruses can even cause this). She wanted to do a CT scan for maybe a slipped disk that didn't show up on the X-Ray. I was a little hesitant. we decided after 3 ice creams later (he finally wanted to eat something) that we would take him home on Ibuprofen and Valium. We came home and put Brady on the couch...all day he did not move his neck or lift it (since 8:30 am).
We had Baily's family party with all the family. Brady stayed on the couch (picture below). I carried him up to bed and set my alarm. I medicated him at midnight and went back to bed. At 1:30 Brady came crying into our room..."My Neck". I put him in bed with me and he laid next to me. Bryant gave him a priesthood blessing and he went to sleep.
Morning came and Brady sat up in bed..."can we make pancakes". I asked him if his neck hurt. He said "all better". Guess what we had for breakfast...prayer and pancakes. I was so grateful he was healed. He has no complaints at all about his neck. He is playing just as he normally does.

We started off the morning (after a mad dash to finish cleaning the house) with Bailey's Friend Party. We made necklaces, had cake, opened presents, and played upstairs.

THANKSGIVING with Grandma Cherri

Grandma Cherri arrived on Thursday. Friday morning we got ready for our thanksgiving feast. Friday evening Bryant and Cherri went for their annual shopping trip. We spent evenings watching movies, played a round of monopoly (Grandma and Whitney won- they had very few properties but came out ahead on cash. Garren had lots of houses on his few properties and Bailey had lots of property), Grandma told stories to us on Sunday evening.

Grandma Fran has been very sick and Grandpa Mike called Saturday evening and let us know that Grandma Fran was not expected to live much longer. Cherri changed her plane ticket and flew home Monday morning. As I was writing this post Bryant called and said Grandma Fran had just passed away this morning (11/22/11). We were glad Grandma was there.

Grandma always comes bearing gifts from Grandma & Grandpa!!! BSU Shirts for all
Movie Time
Saturday making Grandma's dressing. We all agree she makes the best dressing. Bennett says can't make it out of a box ever again!!!

Early Morning in November

One morning I cam home from my run and Brady and Whitney were awake making a very creative track with cars and blocks. (Bailey had to put her hand in the picture)
It all started earlier though...
They had woke up at 4:50 am and said they were hungry. (I am not sure who woke up first-Probably Whitney. I usually wake up at 5 am but that was 10 minutes of precious sleep and usually not starting breakfast) Whitney and Brady had a 5am bowl of cereal. Then they were excited and ready to play. I am thinking - NO WAY!

I put them back to bed and head out for my 6 am run. When I walk back into the house they are busy making the above creation. They have smiles on their faces. I don't think they ever went back to sleep. In fact Brady was back down for an 8:30 am nap and 1 pm nap. Whitney never did take a nap. I tried to get her to take one that afternoon but I fell asleep and she didn't. Bryant always says when I try to have her take a nap she puts me to sleep. She just went to bed at 7pm.

Halloween

 The trick-or treators
Brady is happily medicated.

Halloween was on Monday Night this year. Brady had a 104.1 temperature and stayed home with mom. Bryant took Garrren, Bailey, and Whitney trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Bennett went with some friends trick-or-treating. They all came home with way to much candy!!!
