First Day of School

On 8/26/13 I sent 4 kids off to school for the new school year. Bennett and Garren off to High School Bennett started his Senior year. Garren is a freshman and started his first year of early morning seminary. They boys got home from Idaho on Saturday and started school on Monday. Up at 5 am.

Bailey started 5th grade and Whitney is now a 1st grader. Brady starts Preschool next week. He will be 5 in a few weeks but we will enjoy our last year together at home. I will never have all of my kids in school at the same time. I always told myself  I would not wish Brady in school because I have then wished Bennett out of the house. Hard to believe this is the last year before I send my oldest off on mission/college. Glad Brady loves to hang out with his mom.

Dancing Kids

I am sitting on the computer doing a post on our blog of the girls soccer games. While I am doing this Whitney and Brady are dancing. She has the camera and they are making videos of each other. In the videos you will see the "bossy" side of Whitney. Brady usually keeps a good attitude. Sooo cute. The funny thing I didn't even notice they were doing this. Ignore the messy office floor....it's clean now (for today at least).

First Soccer Game of the Season

Bailey and Whitney are playing soccer for the first time. Whitney plays on team "Japan". She is so cute about soccer. On soccer practice days she wakes up excited to go to practice....and waits till 5:30 pm for practice. I tell her it is time to get ready and she is right on it. She is happy to go and happy when we come home. After a hot soccer practice we usually go swim at the pool for an hour. School starts next week so the swimming after will stop because the pool next to practice will not be open anymore. At the game today she was excited but it was HOT!!!! They play four 10 minute quarters. After 3 quarters the coaches called the game. One girl on the other team was throwing up. They put a blue jersey over Whitney's jersey and put her on the other team to help them out. They played hard in the heat of Texas in August. She was a good sport about playing for the opposing team. As parents we were not sure whether we should cheer for her team "Japan" or the team she was actually playing on.

 

Bailey plays on the "Houston Dynamos"...OK not the real Dynamos but they are pretty good. They played hard and ended with a tie...0-0. They were a pretty even matched team. This is Whitney and Bailey's first time to ever play soccer. At Bailey's first game she played the position of defender.
