Mountain Biking Lake Sommerville Part 1: 5/28/10

Well it started out on a Friday. I had the day off from work and my brother, Mike (the one who is living with us right now) had the day off as well (we are both nurses & work the same place). So we get have an idea that sounded great. There is a 13 mile trail at Lake Sommerville that looked wide enough and flat enough to take a bike trailer with the babies. So we decided to give it a try. Round trip it would be 23 miles. So the journey begins...Well after about 3 1/2 miles I was worn out. The babies were done as well They were suppose to sleep in the car on the drive up and they didn't. They kept trying to fall asleep in the trailer and that didn't work very well. So we turned back. It was a memorable experience but I won't be pulling them again around Lake Sommerville any time soon.

Here we are getting ready. We had cold water, a lunch and even toys the kids.

Did I mention that I pulled the bike trailer with the kids. I wanted a work out- and I got one. I truly felt like I was climbing a "mountain". I always said I liked the mountains.

The Trail. It was so beautiful. Their were wild flowers that lined the trail.

We saw an old oil pump jack.

Keep climbing.

Time for a break. Did I mention it was also hot. Kept babies cool with Gogurts and ice water. And even a little water poured on the head.

Mike had time to take pictures of the flowers. I was towing a load.

Brady and Whitney had their first swim in a lake. It sure felt good.
