Another year....Another year older!!!  38

These are the cupcakes Whitney and Bailey made with her new cupcake maker. Brady, Whitney, and Bailey helped decorate them.

 

6 Years Old Whitney

Whitney turned 6 years old. We started off the day with a friend party at the splash pad. We had cupcakes and played in the water. Then it started pouring rain and it was time to go home. I am glad they had as much time as they did before it started pouring.

That evening we had a family party with the few remaining cupcakes and she opened her presents from the family.

Drivers License

7/11/13 Today Bennett passed his drivers test and got his driver's license. It is exciting to get your driver's license.... a little scary for mom.  In 6 months Garren can get his learner's permit...ouch toooo soon.

They are growing up to fast. Bennett will be a senior this year and Garren enters high school.  Brady being in preschool for another year makes me feel young.

The fact that I hobble about with a knee scooter makes life interesting. Can't put anything away ("kids pick this up" & "help cook this" are regular words in my vocabulary). I don't know how people did crutches. A knee scooter is an amazing invention. I have had to go a lot of places this week to get Bennett & Garren ready for Philmont, driver's license, ortho appts, & dentist apts. I can go pretty fast around stores on my scooter. I almost have my kids trained not to forget me in the van, open doors for me, etc.

Eagle Scout Project

Saturday 7/6/2013 Bennett completed his Eagle Scout Project. It was a great accomplishment. It ended up taking only one day. He had a great turnout. Bennett and Bryant, Garren and a few others started at 7 am to sand the benches. At 10 am many more people showed up (that was the official start time) and they were given brushes and started adding sealant to the benches. They ended up using a one coat product so they got it done all in one day. They were done by noon.

Bailey was the photographer. She watched Brady and Whitney while I took Nana and Maranda to the airport. Luckily my cast is on my left leg so I can still drive.

Project: We will be Striping, sanding, and repairing, by replacing damaged boards, 16 benches around the school yard at Keith Elementary school. We will then apply 3 coats of sealant to protect and beautify.

Why:The benches are damaged and are not safe for the children. There are splinters and weather damage and the benches are an eye sore. We will replace and repair all damage and sand smooth the surfaces and seal and beautify the benches.

 

4TH OF JULY 2013

On Forth of July we got fireworks and set them off. We also watched the neighbors who did fireworks on other streets. We had a few of the kind that go up in the air but some people have quite the show. Kids have a lot of fun. It was a perfect night. Budget this year $70.

 

I enjoyed the show sitting in my chair with leg up.

Kids sat on the blanket at first and then they all got busy lighting fireworks and that was lots of fun.

Brady would only shoot off the Roman candles with Maranda.
